Your work stays on your Mac

Karigar is built so that the private part of using an AI — what you actually ask it, and what it writes back — never travels anywhere.

Where your conversations live

Chats, workbenches and the notes you keep in them are written to an encrypted store in your own Application Support folder. They are encrypted with a key held in your Mac's Keychain.

No server copy. There is no cloud database holding your conversations, because there is no server.
Not in a synced folder. The store is kept out of iCloud Drive, Dropbox and similar folders, so it is not copied off the machine by accident.
Not searchable by other apps. The store is excluded from Spotlight indexing.
Only reachable from your Mac. Karigar's local services accept connections from your machine alone — not from other devices on your network.

The only times Karigar uses the network

Being honest about this matters more than claiming zero connections.

Downloading the app

You download Karigar from this website. As with any download, the server sees your IP address.

Downloading Hix, once

Karigar fetches the model file from models.sutrar.com. It is a plain file download: nothing about you or your work is sent with it.

That is the complete list. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no licence check, and no background connection while you work.

Working offline

Once Hix is on your Mac, Karigar does not need the internet at all. You can disconnect entirely — turn off Wi-Fi, unplug the cable — and keep working: opening past conversations, starting new ones, and getting answers from Hix.

This is not a side effect. It is the test we hold the app to: with the network switched off, everything still works.

What we do not claim

Karigar protects your work from the network. It cannot protect you from someone who already controls your Mac: software running as you, with your account unlocked, can reach what you can reach. No application can honestly promise otherwise.
